August Teas for Detoxification and Purifying

Aug 24, 2022
Red Clover Tea

Perform With Confidence - This week as we discuss performing what we do with confidence, I want to look at some teas that are great for detoxifying the body. As with any craft, we use tools to achieve our best performances. Confidence comes from having taken the time to prepare for performance.

Red Clover - common clover is found in about every park lawn and soccer field. The dried flowers of red clover are made into tea or combined with other ingredients to produce a detox tea. They exhibit a sweet grassy flavor, reminiscent of a summer's fresh cut lawn.

Red Clover is considered a purifier and is believed to be beneficial to supporting skin health. Found in many detoxifying tea blends that support liver health and flush the body of toxins.*

Rooibos Leaf - From the shores of South Africa, Rooibos is a source rich in anti-oxidants. It is said to have a relaxing effect, but not necessarily enough to make you sleepy. Rooibos is also often found in detox teas and as an anti-oxidant can tie down free radical and toxins so that can be ushered out of the body.*

People with estrogen-sensitive cancer such as breast cancer should avoid drinking rooibos tea or talk to a doctor before consumption.

Turmeric - This bright yellow powder is just fun to look at. Derived from a root that looks a lot like ginger, turmeric has been used as a healing agent throughout the ancient world. Another anti-oxidant, Turmeric also has anti-inflamatory properties. You can make the tea from powder or ground or sliced fresh root. It includes curcumin which has been noted to help with immune system regulation and eases symptoms of arthritis.
